January & Week 1 Before Shots
Yay for a New Year!
Again with the Blues and Greens… I’m blaming @adamsfilo.

Whew! Christmas has come and gone, and it’s evident in the planner pages.
Next to no personal or work stuff listed, but lots of shopping lists!
Unfortunately, these After shots are also lacking all of the photos that I took last week… I thought family pictures would fill in the empty spots nicely, especially since it’s Winter Break and all of the kids are out of school. Alas, the poor printer is out of ink, so there are no photos printed yet; after the ink arrives later this week, I’ll be printing and adding to these pages.
However, as it’s the end of the month, you do get to see the completed Monthly View and Monthly Chart (which I’m just now realizing that I didn’t completely update… oops! I blame Christmas Chaos!).
I’m finally feeling Christmas. Which is a good thing, because I was becoming concerned that I just wouldn’t feel it much this year, and that lovely feeling was pretty late in coming.
See, Christmas stresses me out. It isn’t the busy-ness of the season; I enjoy being busy. Let’s be honest… it’s always rather busy around here, so Christmas doesn’t really feel any different than any other time of year.
It isn’t that I wasn’t feeling the warm Christmas fuzzies. I get those fuzzies from little things every day because I look for them. I am thankful every day that we have a house, food in the refrigerator, appliances, electricity, running water… all of the things that would be so very easy to take for granted.
The source of my Christmas stress, the thing that was overriding my joy, was the simple fact that I hate to shop.
However, being thankful for little things meant that I was very thankful for my planner. I had everything organized, lists upon lists, so that my brain didn’t have to try to process all of that information while I fought my way through traffic and tried not to get run over in stores (I’m very small. I get run over often.)
And I finally found my Christmas fuzzies. Standing in my nine-year-old son’s gym on Thursday, holding my toddler, listening to the an entire school of little kids singing “Go In Peace” flooded me with joy. Thank you, Jack, for finding my fuzzies for me.
Now that the fuzzies have been located, it’s time to wrap presents and drink lots of coffee. I don’t know how interesting the After Shots from this week will be, but these Before Shots are All Christmas.
Ahhh…
(That contented sigh is the sound of a woman with seven kids who is done with the Christmas shopping. Bliss, I tell you.)
Last week’s After Shots are a bit bare. It was the last week of school before Christmas break, a rather heavy hockey week, and, well, because Christmas. I have loads of pictures to print and add to my pages, but I’m also out of printer ink; the one place locally that I could somewhat easily get to (read: the drive that is normally 15 minutes long took 45 minutes) was out of blue ink. And I was not going to try to fight my way to another store because all of humanity was out shopping yesterday.
So here are last week’s pages, sans printed pictures.
The best thing about social media, to me, is the opportunity to chat with so many different people.
One lament I’ve heard from the first time I posted a video was the sad story of a “Planner Person” who wanted either wanted to:
My planner(s) have been through loads of changes in the last year. The difference in our family schedules when school is in versus during summer break makes me change the way I use my planner. More work opportunities, for which I am extremely grateful, make me change the way I use my planner. Hockey season makes me change the way I use my planner.
So if you’re worried about changing your set-up, watch this video and see how many personalities my planners have had this year. You’ll feel so much better about yourself, I promise!
