August Review & September Setup

August Review & September Setup

September is the Planner Lover’s Trifecta this year… at least for me.

  1. The start of a new school year always feels like a new beginning to me.
  2. September started on a Monday; if you’re a weekly-based planner like I am, you know what I’m talking about.
  3. The kids are back in school for the whole month, so I can focus without quite so much Mom Guilt.

I’ve also decided to change the way I’m planning projects this month because, to be honest, I haven’t been planning any projects since school let out last June. I’ve been keeping a running list of projects I want to get done and just picking something when I have time and tackling it all at once. I know this doesn’t work for me, and yet I do it every summer. I am most productive when I break each project down into manageable pieces and then chip away at each project a little bit at a time; those stolen moments need to be put to good use!

I’ve incorporated my Field Notes Gemini notebook into the project planning setup because it’s small; take planning YouTube videos, for example. Using Evernote Moleskine notebooks enables me to allot one page for each video project, make a list of the applicable links I need to find, note the blog shortlink for that particular post, and upload it all to Evernote where it’s automatically filed into the correct notebook, tagged, and fully searchable (yes, even my handwriting is searchable in Evernote!).
